A Stellprobe – a blocking rehearsal – is the rehearsal in the theatre in which the moves are set: who goes where and when, where someone stands, when they leave. It follows the read-through. First the text is read, then it is staged. Afterwards it is all changed again.

At the Stapferhaus in Lenzburg I brought content into rooms. For the SKKG it was the other way round: rooms for content. In the CAMPO project I helped shape what the place is meant to become – and tested, in the interim use in Oberwinterthur, how we might get there.

The Stapferhaus is a museum but has no collection. The SKKG has a collection and is not building a museum. For the SKKG I also made the podcast Wohin damit? Unterwegs in die Zukunft des Kulturerbes.

At the Stapferhaus the audience came from all over Switzerland for an exhibition. At CAMPO the neighbourhood comes for lunch. Flats, businesses and a collection will share the building, together with the museum world – the international one included.

That is where I start, trying to connect thinking with doing. Where it leads is open.
